The Gothic found
The Gothic found
Alberto Benussi - Gianfranco Relli - Luca Fortuzzi
The German army, at the end of World War II, tried to oppose, on the Gothic Line, a last valiant resistance inexorable advance of allied troops. The events that shook the people and the land on which it was erected the Germanic system of fortifications, in the years 1944 and 1945 left indelible marks on the ground and in the memory. The three young authors who grew in the shadow of those places, cultivated since childhood and developed a single passion: to try and collect everything that had belonged to the soldiers who fought on the Gothic Line.
In years of painstaking research and patients, even with the help of metal detectors, have collected directly on the battlefield a multitude of personal items of equipment, which in the book are shown to the public through hundreds of color images. It will be through the description of these objects which will be proposed to the reader reconstruct the daily lives of soldiers who, for many months and many sufferings, he faced entrenched on those mountains.
